Description
Instead of plowing grassland for a renovation, the grass seeds are sown directly into the old sward.
On peat soil it is very difficult to keep grasses with high quality and grassland on peat needs frequent renovation. Renovation with plowing releases carbon dioxide, especially for these soils. This farmers reduces the output of carbon dioxide and avoids the loss of soil and does not have to deal with the risk of a complete renovation. The sward has a continuously high yield with a good quality and his technique saves money and time.

Why it is working
The farmer uses an old, simple and robust sowing machine and can sow directly into the unprepared sward. The so-wing machine makes little cuts in the sward in which the seed is placed. So the grass seed is spread evenly into the exiting turf and germinates in the moist soil.
